At 5:00 a.m. on July 17, the delegation of the Shangluo Charity Foundation departed from Nanjing, marking the resumption of the Shangluo Electronics Charity Journey. After a 2,100-kilometer flight and a 150-kilometer drive along mountain roads, the group arrived in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, well into the late night.

Last year, children from the Greater Liangshan Mountains braved towering peaks to travel to Nanjing, where they experienced the charm of Jinling culture. This year marks the return visit of the Shangluo Charity Foundation’s delegation, who, bearing the greetings and heartfelt care of their sponsors, ventured deep into the mountains to spend an unforgettable week alongside the children.

“Fun English” Interactive Mini-Class — Open a window to the world of English and experience the joy of learning through interactive games.

In the Greater Liangshan Mountains, poverty stemming from a lack of education has been passed down through generations. With treacherous mountain roads and scarce educational resources, “knowledge” is readily accessible to us, yet for the children of Greater Liangshan, it represents their entire future.

The “Shangluo Caring Station” provides children with a warm home, giving them the opportunity to shape their future. A simple classroom is transformed into a solemn and extraordinary space by a single blackboard. During this visit, the Shangluo delegation thoughtfully organized an “Interactive Mini‑Class,” using a blend of engaging English lessons and fun games to help the children experience the joy of learning.

Charity Symposium — Gaining an In-Depth Understanding of Children’s Living and Learning Conditions

Representatives of the Shangluo Charity Foundation engaged in face-to-face interactions with the children. Through open and sincere dialogue, they gained a thorough understanding of the children’s living conditions and encouraged them to overcome challenges, stay committed to their goals, and maintain a positive outlook.

The foundation highly values this opportunity for exchange and has meticulously documented the children’s information. Moving forward, it will use this data to further refine its charitable programs, striving to provide the greatest possible support for the children’s education and daily lives.

These adorable children, dressed in neat clothes with sun-darkened cheeks, have bright, clear eyes that radiate the unique vitality of mountain kids.

Home Visit Record

On the morning of July 19, the delegation, bearing gifts, visited each of the sponsored children in their homes. In stark contrast to the school’s clean and bright surroundings, what met their eyes were dilapidated mud-brick houses, rudimentary earthen walls, and eaves that offered no protection from wind or rain.

In the pristine, secluded, and unadorned mountains, the journey to school is arduous for the children of the Greater Liangshan. Without the “Shangluo Caring Station,” their futures would seem sealed within those dilapidated homes, forcing them to follow in the footsteps of generations past—harvesting buckwheat, digging up potatoes, and tending cattle and sheep amid the rolling hills, spending each summer in monotony and repetition.
