On the afternoon of May 30, the pre‑competition training session for the 2023 TI Cup National College Students’ Electronic Design Contest—Shanghai Regional Competition was successfully held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. More than 40 students and their supervising instructors from the Shanghai region attended in person, while nearly a thousand additional students participated online. Held during this year’s critical preparation phase, the training session featured faculty members from the competition organizing committee and engineers from partner companies, who not only offered encouragement to the participating students but also addressed potential challenges they might encounter during the contest, bolstering their confidence as they embark on the final sprint of preparation.
The training session kicked off with a welcoming address by Teacher Sun Jia, Executive Secretary of the Shanghai Regional Organizing Committee. Teacher Sun provided a detailed overview of the pre-competition training activities and the schedule for this year’s TI Cup National College Students’ Electronic Design Competition, and extended a warm welcome to all participating students.
Subsequently, Teacher Yuan Yan, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Regional Organizing Committee for the National College Students’ Electronic Design Competition, delivered a pre-competition address. He encouraged all students to persevere during the final preparation phase and strive to perform at their full potential in the competition.
Next, the event moved on to a technical‑sharing session. Mr. Xie Shengxiang, Training Specialist in the University Programs Department at Texas Instruments, and Mr. Sun Jianjun, Head of the Technical Support Center at Nanjing Shangluo Electronics Co., Ltd., drew on the various scenarios encountered during the previous competition to outline key considerations and practical tips for participants. They also offered their insights and recommendations on critical aspects such as component selection and system‑level design. Finally, the organizing committee and faculty members addressed all questions raised by the attendees, bringing the training session to a successful close amid warm applause.
Held as an integral part of the annual preparation process for the Electrical Engineering Design Competition, the pre‑competition training session serves as a vital platform for faculty–student exchange and learning during the final sprint, and also functions as an important warm‑up phase before the event begins. As you stand at this new starting line, we wish all participating students outstanding performances and a chance to shine in this year’s competition, taking a solid first step on your future academic and engineering journeys as young scholars!
