Direction, goals, planning, conviction, teamwork, self-discipline, and honor—long-distance hiking is a time-honored tradition at Shangluo. At first glance, it may seem like an “impossible challenge,” but is it truly “impossible,” or is it simply “not! possible!”?
Let’s join this year’s trail walkers and uncover the answers together.
This year, following the launch of registration for the Hiking Challenge, the organizing team received enthusiastic applications from many colleagues. After coordinating with each center, two teams were ultimately formed: the Corporate General Venue Team and the Marketing Management Team.
The company’s all‑hands event was themed “Walking the Path of Perseverance, Meeting at the Pinnacle,” bringing together 30 participants from multiple departments—including Marketing, Business Development, Operations, and Digital—as well as partner companies.
Most of them are participating in the hike for the first time, hoping to push their personal limits through this highly “renowned” event while also fostering greater cross-departmental communication.

Meanwhile, the marketing leadership team comprises 20 regional managers from the Marketing Center. Compared to the company’s broader leadership cohort, they know one another better and most are seasoned trailblazers. Yet, as the frontline of our market‑facing operations, they now confront a new challenge—scaling from “hundreds of millions” to “tens of billions.” With the theme “With One Heart, We Forge Ahead,” the marketing team is eager for this trek to spark fresh insights and reinvigorate their efforts.
I. Kick-off Meeting
As the New Year approaches, the company’s Comprehensive Operations Team and Marketing Management Team convened at the Suzhou office on January 4 and January 5—separated by one day—to hold their hiking‑initiation meetings.
At the kickoff meeting, the working group invited Zhang Quan, the head of the Marketing Center and the initiator of the Shangluo Yixing initiative, to share the story behind its origins, articulate his vision of what Yixing represents, and encourage everyone to seize this opportunity to deeply reflect on seven key concepts—“direction, goals, planning, conviction, team, self-discipline, and honor”—while engaging in introspection and fostering meaningful dialogue with themselves.
In addition, both teams held a flag‑presentation ceremony, with every team member signing their name on the team flag, ready to set out with unwavering resolve in their hearts.

I. Departure – On the Road
On January 5 and January 6, despite the early dawn at departure and the company’s combined team encountering rain on the first day, both hiking groups set out resolutely one after the other.
The hiking companions upheld the tradition, covering an average of about 40 kilometers per day over five and a half days to travel from Suzhou to Nanjing.
Along the way, our teammates traversed cities, national highways, and villages, passing by nucleic acid testing stations that opened only once every 48 hours. They braved the challenge of marching forward with the team flag held high, endured blistered feet and trembling legs on the stairs, and experienced the exhilaration of setting out as well as the pain and despair of pushing their physical limits. They shared the warmth of mutual support, savored the surprise of family members dropping by to check in, and discovered in their companions a sense of humor, reliability, positive energy—and even a knack for cooking delicious meals.

Along the trail of the endurance hike, every participant left behind a “brave and endearing” presence.
I. Reaching Victory – Summary and Sharing
Along National Highway 312, on January 10 and January 11, two teams—the Company’s Comprehensive Operations Team and the Marketing Management Team—arrived one after another at the company’s Nanjing headquarters, where they were warmly welcomed by their colleagues, who celebrated the return of the trail‑blazing warriors.

On the afternoon of their arrival, the working group hosted separate wrap-up and sharing sessions for the two teams participating in the endurance hike. The event also welcomed Mr. Sha Dong, Chairman of Shangluo Electronics, along with senior leaders from the Marketing, Market Development, Business Development, Operations, and Digital centers, aiming to create opportunities for open dialogue and meaningful exchanges. By sharing the insights and reflections gained throughout the journey, participants were able to deepen their self‑reflection and make this collective experience all the more valuable.

At the sharing session, participants took turns expressing their heartfelt thoughts. Below are excerpts from the reflections of our fellow trail‑walkers:
[Company Comprehensive Venue]
“Hiking a long-distance trail like the Yixing is just like achieving a long-term goal: don’t overthink it—just keep moving forward, step by step. That’s all that matters.” — Li Decai, Business Development Center
Before setting out, I had anticipated that the journey would be painful and that I might get hurt along the way. Yet I managed to persevere, and I’m deeply grateful for the support of my teammates—those who guided me, those who helped push me forward, those who walked alongside me, and those who offered words of encouragement. Without the team, it would have been very difficult for us to go so far. — Shao Jielian, Market Supply Center
Everyone has their own pain; never assume that others have it easier. Just as those at the head of the line must pace themselves, and those at the tail must manage their despair, cultivating understanding and gratitude is essential. — Wang Yan, Operations Center
[Marketing Executive Session]
Most members of our team are participating in the Long-Distance Hiking event for the second time. Everyone says this year feels better, but in reality, our bodies are still tired and sore—though we choose not to show it. That’s because each of us shares a common belief: we will definitely make it to Nanjing, and these aches are part of the journey we must endure. — Xue Rui, Display and Laptop Peripherals Division
Each member of our team has a distinct personality, yet over these five days of living and working side by side, we’ve all treated one another with respect and understanding. No one has tried to lead or impose their own style; instead, everyone has stepped into their role—whether it’s the lively, energetic ones who brighten the mood when others are tired. This trek has given us a chance to discover one another, truly understand each other, accept each other, and appreciate one another, drawing fresh strength from each other’s unique strengths. — Zhou Yulin, Distribution Industry Department
This hike has been, for me, both a form of spiritual cultivation and a journey of self‑refinement. Sometimes, behind what others appear to do with effortless ease, we can’t fathom the pain they’ve endured or the sacrifices they’ve made. So what we must do is stay true to our goals: as long as our hearts remain steadfast, countless possibilities will surely unfold. — Li Jing, Mobile Terminal and Wireless Industry Department
Following the sharing session, the working group also invited the guests in attendance to present honorary trophies to the hikers.

Sha Dong concluded: Life’s blessings include the ability to savor solitude and let reflection elevate the spirit, as well as the warmth and care of one’s team when help is needed—experiences that everyone on the hike was able to feel.
I hope that everyone will learn to cultivate reverence and compassion—revering life and respecting the natural order, while caring for oneself and for our customers and partners—and ultimately putting these values into concrete action.
The path we all walk at Shangluo, our shared business journey, is itself a long march. How can we, along this extended trek, channel our own energy to the colleagues around us, to those collaborating across departments, and even to the people we meet in life—rather than dwelling on complaints or pointing fingers? I hope each of you will inspire others with respect and compassion, carrying the strength and spirit gained from this march forward into the enduring journey of “life’s long road.”
